As we have learned from one of the initiators of the Rovinj Photodays
Denis Rediæ, the project director, the objective was to affirm and
better position the art of photography. Given that Rovinj is one of the most beautiful and photogenic towns
in Croatia, it was a logic choice to have it host the First national
photography festival in cooperation and sponsored by the Hotel Group
Maistra, said Rediæ, adding that Rovinj has that certain quality – a
combination of tradition and modern which makes it unique and special. In order to emphasize those opposites which are complemented within the
two-day Photodays, a happening titled „Timeless lines“ was organized
along the waterfront and the old town. Photographers and all interested
tourists and citizens were given a chance to take some of the most
beautiful shots of cars and models. On one side they were able to take
photos of old timers in “company” of girls dressed in clothes from the
60tees who were depicting the beginnings of Rovinj tourism, and on the
other side new expensive cars with models depicting the modern and
luxury Rovinj. In addition to general sponsor „Maistra“ d.d., Astoria d.o.o. from
Rijeka, (which publishes the magazine LivingStone, known for its
quality and attractive photos) was also the organizer of „Photodays
2008“.
