There was plethora of events offered to the public, hosts and guests. Gastronomic offer was rich and in the sign of frutti di mare while special applause went to two hundred kilos of watermelons and cantaloupes given to guests as a gift from the organizers and Rovinj producers Mladen Matošoviæ and Edo Èrnac.

Music could be heard from two stages set on the promenade. The night was opened with the music by the Brass Band and continued with splendid folklore and performance by KUD „Stjepan Žiža“from Rovinjsko Selo. Credit for the hot atmosphere on the stage of a small pier  went to the folk band „Batana“, members of KUD „Marko Garbin“  and Sergio Preden Gato, while the central stage was in the sign of „Party band“ and the musical doyen Mirko Cetinski. Special guests of the night were members of the Dubrovnik klapa vocal group „Ragusa“, which opened souls and hearts of guests with their performances of Dalmatian songs. The unannounced, ten-minute long attractive fireworks over the city, was a nice surprise of the night.

Besides salt and sea spiced food, drinks and music, there were illustrations of old fisherman’s crafts – making and mending of fish nets and wicker-covered flagons. Construction of the fourth in a row city batana (small flat-bottomed square –sterned rowboat), which will be launched at the end of August, arose big interest. Batana, built by the Rovinj kalafat (boat maker) Mladen Takaè, will be named „Liliana“, by the famous and too early deceased singer Liliana Budicin Manestar- the Rovinj nightingale. The batana is constructed manually by the system „board by board“, and each night it can be seen on the plateau in front of the Eco museum „The House of Batana“.

Event organizers, Tourist Association employees, announce two other Fisherman Traditions Nights for August 1 and 28 with new musical guests and attractive events. Share
